Driving instructors originate from a variety of backgrounds. Their desire to work with young people is a key ingredient to becoming a driving instructor. Inter-personal skills, discipline, professionalism, and responsibility are also fundamental assets for driving instructors.
For most driving instructors, little compares to the feeling of a job well done. When a student gleefully flys from the vehicle after passing her road test and captures you in a bear hug, you're again reminded of why you teach. The euphoria is overwhelming.
Those that are teaching the course are qualified to teach both personal and commercial vehicles and possess decades of experience in both driver training and related industries.
Learning to teach opens many doors and often a whole new career for many of the people we teach to become driving instructors.
We are committed to excellence in Class 5/7 Driving Instructor Trainer Course and look forward to meeting you.
Before signing up for a Driver Trainer course, you must be pre-approved by ICBC (see below)
The Class 5/7 Instructor Trainer course includes 40 hours in-class and 40 hours on-road training. As a result, this course is only offered on a full-time basis.
The majority of students will spend a large portion of the course learning the art of driving. As an instructor, you will be required to serve as a model driver. As well, you will be required to demonstrate manoeuvres and sequence each part of parallel parking or a pre-trip, for example, and explain the reasons behind manoeuvres.
The course is comprised of both in-classroom and in-vehicle training. Subsequently, there will be homework, which students are required to complete in addition to required assignments. For those that have not been in a classroom for some time, these learning tasks may provide additional challenges. At one and the same time, CSTT Driving instructors will provide all help necessary to make you successful.
